Gout Pain Relief- REMOVING WHITE CRYSTALS FROM A FOOT – LET IT SNOW!!!

Hey guys, I just want to say thank you Hey guys, I just have a quick message for you, and I just wanted to say Merry Christmas to all my toes out there! So I hope you guys were all very good toes this year. Just about to head out to the family Christmas party. It’s been a really exciting year! We’re not at the end of the year yet, so I just want to thank you guys for all the support, all the love, it’s been an amazing year so far. I can’t believe it’s only been nine months since I started this channel so I want to again thank all of you for all the help. I couldn’t do this without you. Like I said make sure that you guys were good toes this year so you can get some goodies. I’m hoping to have a new year with tons of new videos, new education, a lot of information for you guys to make you guys have happy and healthy feet. The thing that I really want for you guys is to have happy healthy working feet, so I hope that with the year that’s coming up I can give you guys all the information you need to really get you guys to a good healthy place. Thank you guys for all the support, for all the love. Happy holidays. Stay safe! Have fun, cherish each other, and look after those feet for me. Toe Bro, out. TB: So just like last time we’re gonna wipe this area down. P: Yeah, it’s kind of dirty. I know I couldn’t get at it. TB: It’s okay. P: My wife doesn’t like stuff like that. So it’s nice and big is it? TB: It’s a big one today, let’s get this focused. P: That’s a neat little camera. TB: So on three, just like last time, you push the heels straight down. Don’t move the front of the foot just push straight down. Just like that, okay? P: Okay. TB: But you’re a tough guy. (laughter) Well then after this you can have a good drink and notfeel anything, okay? I know you like that so here we go on three, one, two, three. TB: I know, oh! No you wanted to run away from me! I held on for dear life! Okay, any pain right now? P: Uhhh… TB: I know. P: Yes. TB: Okay. P: Listen this allopurinol has brought down the gout in both feet, I think. TB: No, for sure. Because the lower your uric acid levels are, P: Yeah. TB: The less you know a little flare-ups we get. Any pain right now? P: No. Colchicine doesn’t do it. TB: No, that’s just when you have a reaction. P: Yeah. TB: How about now? Any pain? P: Uh, no. TB: Pain? P: No. TB: Okay, so they didn’t give you any date when you’re gonna have the joint scraped? P: I haven’t had an appointment yet. No. TB: There you go, you get a lollipop! P: How many years did it take you to become a chiropodist? TB: To become a chiropodist, so you need to have a science degree so four years there athen after your science degree it’s a postgraduate study of three years. P: Wow! TB: The same school my dad went to 30 years ago. So what we’re gonna do first is I’m just gonna wipe down this area and then scrape down some of the top layer of this and then scoop out as much of this crap, this chalk. P: Well I had a lot of gout in my heel. When it opens, I continually squeeze the stuff out for about a week. It would build up then I squeezed it out. Then it went away, I guess; I don’t remember. TB: Well, we already got a lot of the chalk it just kind of came right out. P: Did it? TB: Yeah. P: Oh, good. TB: You okay, sir? P: Yes. TB: Now you’re acting all tough, huh? No you did really well. So we’re just gonna get rid of as much of this skin. Do you still have that antibiotic I gave you last time? P: I have the antibiotic mixed with TB: Cream The analgesic? The numbing? P: Yeah. TB: And how was that? Good? Did you feel any different or not too much? P: Not really. I felt $75 worth. TB: But you still have it? P: Oh, yeah. TB: Okay, we’re gonna use it. Let’s see if we can squeeze anything out. Any pain? P: No. TB: A little bit of chalk. Where’s a chalkboard; we can write some stuff on it. No pain? P: No. No my daughter really likes it. She goes she has to first catch a train from Brussels, go across the Channel to London, where she takes her course. Then she bought herself, they’re always buying things. This time she bought herself a scooter so she can go down the sidewalk. It’s legal, you can. TB: You can, uh? P: You can make a lot better time than walking. TB: Well Europe is more made for that stuff than we are. In Mississauga if you had a scooter, ugh! You would have to spend half your day going around. P: I saw a guy today on a small motorcycle, a real small one. TB: Yeah. P: (?) TB: It is different in other place of the world. P: Yes. TB: Unfortunately here, we pretty much need a car. P: Do you speak other languages? TB: I can speak Spanish and my French is not too bad. P: Hey, terrific! Keep it up! I always appreciate you doing that! TB: Well my mom’s you know German family and she was born and raised in Quebec. P: Oh really? TB: Yeah. My grandfather was born in Paris but he was half German so pretty much a German family but she speaks French and as a kid she put me in French school P: A smart woman. TB: and so that’s how I learned French and then I had the opportunity to learn Spanish my wife speaks Spanish P: Great! TB: So I wanted to learn so I can communicate with her and our family and in Spanish and that’s the French really helped me quite a bit. P: Oh, yeah. My son can get along in Spanish, French and I think it’s called Sulawesi from, Indonesia. TB: Uh hum. P: Because he spent time over there studying fish. What he did this last year or two, he took his son down to Panama they stayed in a Spanish-speaking house for eight days. And my grandson said I learned way more than going to school. TB: For sure. Conversation is the most important part in any language. You’re just learning how to communicate and say those basic things. If you practice with that, it’s gonna make a huge difference. P: Do you still practice your Spanish? TB: Yo puedo, hablar español perfectamente, So I have many clients who come in, they don’t even speak English. P: Oh, great! TB: I have a few doctors who refer to me just because they can send their patients here who don’t speak English as well. TB: So this one’s pretty cleaned out, so we’re pretty good. P: Great! TB: So we’ll give you P: Is it cleaned out better than last time? You know last time you said there was some in there. TB: It’s always coming out. P: Yeah. TB: Remember the whole joint is full of it so… But we took quite a bit out, nothing in the top surface, so I’m gonna just flush it out. TB: Do you feel any pain? P: No. I want to come back and see you again. TB: Are you gonna miss me that much, huh? P: You bet. You give good service. TB: Oh, thank you. Thank you, so what we’re gonna do is I’m going to put antibiotic cream and then a little dressing on here. Just wrap up, we’ll keep this covered and then we come back when you feel that discomfort again. I think you lasted a month or a little bit longer. So we’ll see the last time you came in but I think you should be good for a month. P: I’m going to see the orthopedic surgeon. TB: Yeah, because that’s the final goal right is that you just get it clean out surgically and then you’ll be much better off. P: It’s clean at least. TB: Yes. P: I did notice today it was really sore so I guess it was bigger than I thought. With a pustial. TB: So I really went deep today. P: Great! TB: So that you can leave this on until tomorrow morning, and you should rebandage it. P: Yeah. TB: With the ointment the cream I gave you last time and the bandaid, okay? P: Yeah. TB: And then once it closes up, there’s no point dressing it anymore. We dress it until we form a scab, okay? P: Well I find it just keeps the cushion in my shoes. I won’t buy new shoes again. TB: Yeah, you stick to extra wide shoes. That’s the best thing you can do. P: Yes. TB: Well you didn’t cry too much today so that’s pretty good! No, you’re a tough guy; you did really well. P: I saw a guy today on a

Look – You’re obviously tired of repeatedly treating your anxiety symptoms… You’ve likely tried a bucket-load of traditional
anxiety treatments… And you’re sick of being told there’s
no quick cure… But listen – It’s not your fault! You’ve
simply been sold the old, conventional ways of Western medicine, of ‘Big Pharma’… You’ve only been taught to treat the symptoms
– not treat the cause – right?… So naturally, if you want a breakthrough,
you must change something, do something different – yes? Well – my mission is simply to help you change
the way you think… And when you change the way you think, you’ll
change the results you get – which is what you’re looking for – isn’t it? Look – this simple 2-minute technique works
in a totally different way… Heal the hidden emotional cause – and like
millions of regular folks around the world, you too can feel the rapid relief you’re
hoping for… So why on earth has nobody told you about
this – until now? See – here’s the deal…
By any traditional standards, this is a crazy cure for sure – for three very good reasons…
It sounds crazy… It looks crazy… And here’s the kicker – it works like crazy too…
Which is why they’re calling it A Crazy Cure… So even though it’s being proved, every
day, by people just like you… Because it challenges those conventional beliefs… Nobody else will know if you’re open-minded
enough to even give it a go… But look – these famous Doctors highly recommend
it… Deepak Chopra, MD says it -“Offers great healing
benefits.” Dr. Oz calls it – “The next big frontier
in medicine!” And Dr. Joe Mercola confirms it as – “A
major component of our treatment program.” So hand’s up who’s open-minded – and ready
for something NEW? … 3-Step EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques)
– or ‘Tapping’… A unique new combination of modern psychology
and the ancient Oriental healing art of acupressure… (That’s like acupuncture – without the
needles!) The combined effect is like re-booting your
body… Tapping points on your face and body with
your fingertips… Whilst speaking positively yet gently to your
subconscious mind… To clear your blocked energy channels, or
meridians… And ZAP the hidden emotional cause of your
problem… See – sounds crazy, doesn’t it? But wait!
It flat out works… And it’s not just for any one problem – so
you can try it on everything… Because, believe it or not, those negative
emotions we all experience every day… Like Stress, Unworthiness, Anger, Anxiety,
Frustration, Grief, Guilt, Blame, Shame, Bitterness, Resentment…
Are, in fact, your inner guidance system… Powerful indicators of limiting beliefs, definitions
or opinions of yourself, picked up throughout your life…
Hidden by your subconscious mind – and stuck in your body’s energy system…
Yes – those hidden, limiting beliefs are the proven root cause of your suffering…
Of all your health, wealth or relationship problems – and more…
Skeptical? I can understand that. Even the most open-minded people may be – until they
try this – and prove it for themselves! Listen – Chances are good that in a matter
of minutes, you’ll begin to feel relief faster than you ever dreamed possible… You see, ‘emotionally simple’ problems,
such as Aches, Pains, Anxieties, Allergies, Food Cravings, Phobias… Often fade away completely with the use of
Step 1 alone – sometimes, almost miraculously, with a single 2-minute session… Most likely, though, with a number of repetitions… So let’s find some relief right now, shall
we?… It’s time to dive in and test this Crazy
Cure for yourself… First though – the required legal disclaimer… IMPORTANT
3-Step EFT is a complementary therapy. It should not should be regarded as a medical
claim. For medical advice, you should consult a qualified health professional, and the techniques
described must not be used as a substitute for any treatment they recommend. In using
this information, you are responsible for your own actions. So now, pick a ‘simple’ problem to try
it on… Any ache or pain in your body, a feeling of
anxiety about a specific event, a food craving, simple allergy or phobia… Got one? OK. To help you appreciate your progress,
rate the current intensity of that problem, on a scale of zero to ten… Ten being the most intense possible, zero
being no more problem at all – which of course, is what we’re aiming for… My brief demonstration shows you how and where
to tap… Then you just follow-along to Step 1 – ‘Tap
The Problem’… So let’s go… Hello! And welcome to 3-Step EFT – A Crazy
Cure. In this short video presentation
I’m going to show you the tapping points that you need to use
in the Step-1 tap-along video. There’s 8 of them
and the first is on the side of the hand it’s the base of the palm
the fleshy part of the hand, often known as the karate chop point
where you would karate chop a piece of wood! So taking the
fingers of the other hand, 1,2, 3 even 4 – whatever feels comfortable to you
as with all the tapping points, just tap gently – whatever feels comfortable to you
the next point is the top of the head – right on
the crown just tapping gently, and then you move down
to the eyebrow point which is between the two eyebrows – right in the middle there…
Next is the side of the eye – on the bone parallel with the eye there, and then
underneath the eye – the under the eye point –
on the bone just there. Next is the collarbone point – you have two collar
bones topping on either side – right there…
Then moving down to the breastbone point The breastbone runs down the body and at
the base there’s little indentation which is known in acupressure as the Sea
of Tranquility so you just tap gently on there… Then finally
we have the Fingertips Point. The meridians in the body
run down to the end of the fingertips, so you
put your fingers together with your thumb underneath, encircle it
with your other hand and squeeze gently on the fingertips.
Whilst you’re doing that you take a deep breath – in and out.
And that’s it… those are the simple tapping points you need
to use for the Step-1 Video. Ok. Now you know the 8 simple tapping points,
bring your problem to mind… Create a simple phrase for your specific symptom,
to fill in the blanks as you tap-along to Step 1 – for example… “I have this splitting headache”, “I
have this lower back pain”, “I feel anxious about my test”, “I have this chocolate
craving”, “I have this fear of spiders”, “I have these itchy eyes”… Now, check the intensity again, from zero
to ten… Done that? Great. Now relax, and tap-along
with me… Speak the words out loud, and fill in the
blanks for your specific problem… Let’s tap… 3-Step EFT Step 1 – Tap The Problem.
First – Rate the intensity of your problem or negative emotion from zero to ten. Now
tap… SH: “Even though [problem/emotion], I know,
inside, that I’m OK…” SH: “Even though [problem/emotion], I know,
inside, that I’m OK…” SH: “Even though [problem/emotion], I know,
inside, that I’m OK…” SH: “I’m sorry, please forgive me, thank
you, I love you…” FT: Breathe and feel relief… “RELIEF!”
TH: “Letting go of [problem/emotion]…” EB: “It’s OK to let go of [problem/emotion]…”
SE: “It’s safe to let go of [problem/emotion]…” UE: “Please let go of [problem/emotion]…”
CB: “Please let go of [problem/emotion]…” BB: “I’m sorry, please forgive me, thank
you, I love you…” FT: Breathe and release… “RELEASE!”
SH: “I now prefer to feel aligned, inspired and peaceful inside…”
SH: “I now prefer to feel aligned, inspired and peaceful inside…”
SH: “I now prefer to feel aligned, inspired and peaceful inside…”
SH: “I’m sorry, please forgive me, thank you, I love you…”
FT: Breathe and feel peace… “PEACE!” Well Done! Now rate the intensity again – on
that same 0-10 scale. Did you feel some relief already? I do hope so… Did you find yourself yawning – or even
giggling? That’s your energy shifting… Although ‘emotionally simple’ problems
often fade away quickly as you tap, sometimes they take a few sessions to clear completely… So don’t give up – take a break, drink
a glass of water… Then continue – tap along again, as often
as you need… You can join me, free, at ACrazyCure.com… You’ll receive powerful hints and tips to

How Injury Affects Mental Health | Athletes Connected

How Injury Affects Mental Health | Athletes Connected

– [Erin] After a successful
freshman campaign, including a team podium
finishing cross country, four individual big-time titles, and three all-American citations. I was riding a high
that seemed untouchable. I was on top of the world. As accolades on the track, and cross country courses piled up, I felt more and more comfortable defining myself in terms of my running. It was my identity, the
fact of being who I was. (somber music) But then, it started to take. A small limp erupted into
a full fracture in my foot. With the number one team ranking, Michigan women’s cross
country was supposed to challenge for the national title, and I was supposed to help lead them. For the first time in
my tenure at Michigan, I was unable to do what
I was supposed to do. Instead, I remained
back home in Ann Arbor, my identity torn away
from my physical being. I was miserable, depressed,
and I hurt those closest to me. I wanted desperately
to escape this sadness that overwhelmed every
minute of every day. But how could I escape this agony if all I was, was running? And I couldn’t run. Something deeper, something
that would truly make me whole was missing during this
process of physical healing. Flash forward, to my junior year, after a brief interlude of relative peace and healthy running, I
was devastated once again, with another stress fracture in my foot. This time however, the stakes were higher. I had sacrificed this
season of competition with my Michigan teammates for
a shot at the Olympic trials. Another thing was
different this time, too. My friend and teammate asked if I wanted to go to summer Bible study with her. This Bible study was
through Athletes in Action, or AIA, a campus ministry program. I joined and learned some
pretty incredible things. This new knowledge and
community led me to find purpose in something steadfast and unbreakable, unlike running and my bones. By placing my identity in
God, I have a safe place to be when running, or life doesn’t work out the way I hope it will. If my best is not good enough, it does not mean I am not good enough, as I am someone who runs,
not merely a runner. These revelations made
all of the difference for the injury that
barred an Olympic dream. I was sad, no doubt, but
having found my purpose, I did not force myself to
live every day in misery. I let myself smile and laugh. I allowed myself to enjoy things, even though I was not running. By redefining my identity
and finding purpose, I redefined my life. (calming piano music) – You are more than an athlete. – You are not alone. – We are one community. (uplifting piano music)

Coping with Career-Ending Injury | Athletes Connected

Coping with Career-Ending Injury | Athletes Connected

(inspirational music) – When I started at the
University of Michigan, I had no idea I would
have the opportunity to walk onto the rowing team. I immediately fell in love
with the sport, and the team. Every aspect of my life
revolved around the team, and I didn’t want it any other way. During the fall of my junior
year, everything changed. I became injured and had
to medically redshirt for the rest of the season. (inspirational music) I was devastated. What was I supposed to do without rowing? Being away from my teammates,
unable to practice or compete, made me sick to my stomach. Negative thoughts ran through my mind. I spent most of that year
crying, feeling sorry for myself. I went from everything in my
day to day revolving rowing, and my teammates, to isolating
myself to numb the pain. I felt like a failure. I was scared and
embarrassed to ask for help. This same year, Athletes
Connected was created. I started attending
Athletes Connected meetings. These meetings helped me realize that I shouldn’t suffer in silence. I began to open up to my
coaches and close friends. Learning how to communicate my feelings during these meetings was important for my mental health while being injured. With the injury rehabbed, I came back in the fall of the next year, ecstatic to be back training
with my favorite team. (inspirational music) Within the first week of
practice, I was injured. Again. I was devastated. Through that year, I worked
with my athletic trainer, and I was able to come back
at the end of the season, but I did not contribute
in the way I wanted. Fast-forward to the
beginning of my fifth year, I was still suffering
from lingering injuries. My coaches and I decided that it was time to medically retire. I had recently been elected as one of the captains by my teammates, and I felt that by seeking
medical retirement, I was giving up, and letting my team down. But, in reality, it was the opposite. I was met with unwavering support. My coach asked me if I
wanted to still be captain, and take on a new role
as his student coach. It took me a long time to accept that my rowing career was over, but I had a new place to put my passion for the team, and rowing. (inspirational music) Athletes Connected, and
our athletic counselors, helped me realize that my
sport does not define me. Even though I was not contributing
to the team physically, I could still contribute
by being a great leader, and a great teammate. Although my journey was a
rollercoaster of ups and downs, and different than I
could have ever imagined, I am forever grateful for the experience. Michigan, and Michigan
Rowing, has changed my life for the better. (bright music) – We are one community. – You perform best when you’re physically and mentally healthy. – Asking for help is a sign of strength. (bright music)

Emotional FIRST AID Kit: Ep 5 Soul Reflections: BK Shivani (English Subtitles)

Emotional FIRST AID Kit: Ep 5 Soul Reflections: BK Shivani (English Subtitles)

Greetings and welcome to Awakening With Brahma Kumaris. Sister Shivani is with us. Welcome, sister. Om Shanti. Om Shanti and welcome to Soul Reflections. Thank you. Sister last time we were talking about information that we consume in the morning, just like the breakfast we eat. You mentioned that information leads to thoughts and thoughts lead to action. If we attend spiritual classes in the morning, is that enough? Each of us will have a certain morning schedule. If we look at peoples’ schedules, a few minutes in the morning are set aside as time for the self. Somebody does yoga, somebody meditation, somebody does Pranayam, somebody goes on a walk, somebody goes to the gym. So everyone has set aside a few minutes of the morning for themselves. It is for self-nurturing. Most of our focus is on nurturing the body which is also very important. But now we need to nurture both body and mind. Nurturing the soul and also taking care of the body. Because it is mind over matter. Energy and the body. If we take very good care of the body but do not pay attention to nurturing the soul Then every thought which the soul vibrates to the body manifests into an illness. If I exercise every day and do yoga every day, but throughout the day I live in stress If I am tensed, worried or angry – basically if my mind is not peaceful I am taking care of the body but the mind is radiating stress and disturbance to the body throughout the day. So there will be some impact on the body. Which means we need to take care of the soul apart from taking care of the body. Like you said, early morning is a very important time to do it. Because it is the beginning of the day. What do we fill in the soul in the morning? If we leave out the newspaper and for 30 minutes reading any information which is Satvik or pure Or if we fill it with Gyan or spiritual information Which is highly satvik or highly elevated When we take in God’s knowledge wisdom, after that we don’t have to make much efforts. That Gyan will start doing its work automatically. Once the Gyan goes in, it will empower the soul. The powerful soul will automatically think the right thoughts. The right thoughts will automatically create the right actions. So what we did is that for 30 minutes or 45 minutes in the morning, we filled the soul with Gyan or positive information. Now the only thing we need to take care is – we filled the self with Gyan in the morning. For the rest of the day, we should not fill a whole lot of other quality of information If we take in Gyan in the morning and the rest of the day we don’t take much of wrong information Then the 30 minutes or 45 minutes of Gyan in the morning is enough. It is like we water plants only once in the morning. We don’t water them after every hour. So if we water the plants once this morning, that takes care the whole day. Next we will need to water only tomorrow morning. But if you water them in the morning and later in the day you poured a lot of unhealthy things over the plants Or if you keep them away from sunlight. Sunlight also is needed. It is like taking Gyan in the morning but it awareness through the day is like the sunlight. We cannot keep the plant shut in a cupboard. Suppose we give it water, sunlight and even good air circulation, but if you spray something which is healthy for it Suppose you pour acid So we need to pay attention to this – we listen to Gyan and even did meditation in the morning. But we need to pay attention to the information we consume the whole day. If we took in Gyan in the morning and throughout the day we don’t consume much of unhealthy information It is fine for the Soul, that much is enough. We don’t need to do anything else. It is not that the whole day we need to meditate or study spirituality. What we study in the morning is sufficient. I used to be very attentive in my class during school days, that I could remember it even in the exams. If we concentrate and take in Gyan sincerely, we will remember the same things through our Karma, through what others say, through a newspaper message. Suppose you filled the soul with Gyan in the morning, but later on you filled it with lots of information from here and there, engaged in unhealthy conversations and gossips, and consumed impure news Then the effect of Gyan will reduce. You filled spiritual information first but later diluted it with other quality of information. For how long can we read Gyan in a day? For 30 minutes. We don’t have more time than that. Then the rest of the day we’re out into the world. So even if you fill yourself with half an hour of spiritual knowledge, it is enough. You don’t need to do anything more. But for the rest of the day don’t feed wrong information to the soul. Even when reading the newspaper and catching up on the boldfaced highlights to know what is happening But then we start thinking about it, complaining that the world is deteriorating because of Kalyug We start thinking about the news – something unfortunate happened with a 4-year-old child, or with somebody else, there is robbery and there is corruption. When will you start thinking about it? When you read too many details about it. Exactly. That is what I meant that if we take in Gyan attentively in the morning, then throughout the day points of Gyan keep occurring to the mind. Yes. But if you read 4 newspapers back to back after taking in Gyan. It will not help. Why are we focusing so much here on information? We often say – I meditated, I attended spiritual classes, I listen to Gyan regularly but I don’t know why there are no changes in me. For years we have been doing all this, going to different places, attending programs and even meditating. Whatever we do is going to benefit. But why are we not seeing the benefit? The raw material is information, followed by thinking and doing. So the raw material which I put into the process plant in the morning was of very high quality. But for the rest of the day what quality of raw material did I put in? We diluted it. Because the soul is not very powerful, negative information affects it much faster. A few days ago you had read a beautiful quotation for us. What you watch, what you read, what you listen and the conversation you engage in – everything is deciding who you are. So in the morning, I took care and filled the soul with Gyan. But for the rest of the day I read a lot of other things. We need to pay attention to information. When you are in a particular profession you need knowledge about it, so you are reading technical information pertaining to it – that is very good. Suppose you are in medical profession, it is very important that you read information pertaining to health. But if you are just reading negative information from here and there That depletes soul power. It is not at all related to our profession. It is not even related to our life. It is only about what we see here and there, or a post with someone has put up for us to read. Today we have to tell ourselves – That is depleting me. When we tell people to do a task, they say it is not their job. Why don’t we show the same intent here? Why don’t we refuse saying – It is not my job to listen to this unwanted information? It will start happening now. Now that we know the repercussions. I found a line suitable in this context, to share. You are in charge and you will decide when to encourage, when to delete and when to store each thought or emotional impulse that comes within your Orbit. Encourage, Delete or Store – three options. You have to make it clear to your mind, heart and body that you are in-charge. If you do not, then there is chaos. You are in-charge, and if you don’t take charge then there is chaos. Today we are saying – like how you share with us last time – That messages keep coming on the phone. So unwillingly I tend to read them. These words we use indicate that I am not in charge. I am not choosing. The answer it gives us – then there will be chaos. I am not responsible, I can’t do it, it’s not my fault – this is how we speak. Then there will be chaos. It said at a very powerful line – what you encourage what you delete and what you store It even said about the orbit. We had spoken about the environment. About a person who is born in a palace, are born in a poor family and so on. Orbit means your environment, your surroundings, your family, your workplace. Like a planet which rotates around its Orbit. Likewise is our Orbit which means our World. Our orbit also includes this huge world. This world has a lot of things. That line is saying – whatever comes in your Orbit, you have a choice of what to encourage, what to delete and what to store. Whether it is a thought or an emotional impulse, you have to take charge. If you do not take charge there will be chaos. So if we keep accepting – whatever is coming to us, whatever is available to us, whatever is audible to us and whatever is visible to us We are not choosing what to delete and what to store. We are not choosing what to encourage and what to remove. If we are not taking charge then there is chaos. Chaos at the levels of Mental Health, Physical health and Social health. But where do we get the wisdom needed for this? Wisdom of? Wisdom to know the difference between good and bad. To know which is the right information for me. Whatever you are telling us is what we are getting now, after all these years. We have not even studied about what to take how to take and what to leave. But don’t we know the quality of information? But we start liking such information once you start reading it. Whether it is a train or a bus, people are always seen reading a newspaper. It has become an addiction, is it not? An addiction for information. But the addiction is for what quality of information? It will have an influence and that line says – if you don’t take charge there will be chaos. Suppose today I get addicted to a certain type of food – once I get addicted there is chaos. Till I take charge again. So I will have to give up that addiction. When giving up, we will experience a little discomfort. Like you said – you tend to read even if you are unwilling. That is an addiction. If we are doing something unwillingly, and if we are uncomfortable without doing something like that If we feel uneasy, then it is an addiction. What is the effect of that addiction? That line mentions as chaos. We are seeing that chaos. Chaos in our personal life, professional life and family life. Now we need to finish this chaos. To set it right, we need to take charge. It says – which thought to encourage delete or store. We saw that it is important to start at the level of information – of what to read listen or watch. If we begin at that level, then we don’t have to make more effort at the level of thoughts. When you take a good emotional diet, you will automatically start creating the right thoughts. But when we read a lot of negative information, negative thoughts get created. Then we will have to put efforts at the level of thoughts. It is like if we are unwell, then eating something which is light helps digestion. Yes, otherwise we come to the 2nd stage. So we finally come back to the information. So at the first stage we will take care of information. 2nd stage is when thoughts start getting created. But even among those thoughts, we need to take charge of which ones to encourage, which ones to delete and which ones to store. There is a story that a child tells his father – there are two wolves that keep fighting in my mind. One is good and other is bad. So which of them will win, dad? The father replies – Whichever wolf you feed. Which means even if multiple thoughts get created in our mind, we need to use our power. We can keep thinking and introspecting on good thoughts. God teaches us to fill the soul with Gyan in the morning. And subsequently introspect and churn on the Gyan during the day. So whatever we think on will get registered on the soul. And whatever is registered on the soul will come into action through our words and behavior. So first we take Gyan, then think about it, then it gets registered, and next, it comes in action through our words and behaviour. But we have filled a lot of other information also in the soul. Because we are living in times where we say we are flooded with information. So however much we try to protect ourselves, information keeps coming from here and there. They will also influence the soul. And thoughts get created out of that information also. But even if thoughts get created out of that information, at least let us stop at that second stage now. What is the second stage? The level of thoughts – we need to work at this stage also. First is information. If we take care at that stage, a lot of work gets done there itself. But once we consume wrong information and we need to delete it, it is like cleaning a cloth that has stains. But information has already gone inside, so thoughts will get created out of it. So there are good thoughts and bad thoughts, which again need to be segregated and filtered. Yes thoughts are created. But the line says that – from among those thoughts, which thought to encourage further, which one to store and which one to delete We need to work on that at least. Because otherwise if I increase negative thoughts and keep on thinking about them continuously And suppose I even discuss the same topic with another person, and that person shares her opinion about the topic. So few more negative thoughts go on in my mind If this goes on and on, and gets stored today, they become thoughts of many days. They are not just thoughts of today. They will go on for a very long time. It means I have filled information and today I feel that negative thoughts are getting created in me. About a person or a situation or about my own self, I am getting negative thoughts today. Why are they coming? Because the soul is weak. Why is the soul weak? Because it is filled with negative information. But all that has already happened. But despite negative thoughts getting created, even at this level we can change the thoughts. This is the second level. Needs a little more effort. Doing it at the first level – protecting our cells at the level of information was a lot easier. I don’t want to read this or I don’t want to listen to this – doing this is very easy. It is not easy sister, to say that I don’t want to listen or read. Now I have the awareness. But earlier if a family member spoke to me about somebody, I would listen keenly and enquire more. But today I am able to say enough. I can tell them not to speak negative about anybody in front of me. Especially if somebody is talking negative about a husband-wife relationship, I strictly tell them that it is not good to discuss their issues. Earlier I used to very keenly listen and pass comments like – how could he do this despite being educated, he doesn’t seem like that, and so on. It was difficult. Not difficult but I had to work on it. Then why are we discussing today about filtering information? Because now we have this awareness about information. We are seeing the consequences of information. It is like – suppose I always eat junk food, then junk food was my way of living. But later when I started to eat healthy food, only then I started rejecting junk food. When I was not eating healthy food but eating only junk food – then junk food itself seemed a healthy option. That was our way of life. You feel nice also when you eat good food. Like – I feel nice when I reject negative information and tell them not to discuss such things with me. Because I felt nice that day, I started doing again and again. You get that encouragement. It means the soul started to get more healthy food and the quantity of junk food started decreasing. Next we were even able to reject junk food. If somebody is discussing negative information and at that moment you are able to firmly tell them not to do so Then you will easily be able to delete messages on WhatsApp and Facebook. I started deleting after our discussion. Can you believe it that I had 3 GB of such data? It took me so long to just delete 1 GB out of it. Earlier it was so deeply ingrained – that I should save a message as it may be helpful at some point in life. How much data would the soul have? Unlimited GB’s of data. When there is too much data in the phone, the phone starts slowing down. Yes, that is the reason I started clearing it up. Similarly when the soul has a lot of such kind of information stored But at least on the phone we see a message that memory is being consumed, delete unnecessary information. And in this case – the Gyan taken in the morning, other spiritual classes, or this program of Awakening gives us the message to delete unwanted information from the soul. So we need to do it. Even if I come to the 2nd stage Like you shared – when someone was talking to you about unwanted information and you rejected it, you protected yourself. This is very big safety that we protect ourselves. But a lot more information which we had previously heard is in the soul. It was based on our earlier sanskars, or from information gathered here and there. So quite a few negative thoughts do come during the day. But we need to stop them at that stage itself. Like how I told them – not to speak such things in front of me. If we are able to tell other people to not speak such things with us, we need to do the same thing with our own mind. One practice which often helps us is – if there is an issue about which the mind is thinking, and a lot of negative thoughts are going on continuously because of it. Exactly at that moment, feed the soul with information that is positive and good. Like how we read the Murli – which is Gyan received directly from God. Or we can read a good book. The moment when the mind is disturbed or negative thoughts are continuously coming We are going on creating negative thoughts, so we should stop it. They are created on the basis of the stored information from the past. We won’t even realize that we are creating them. We say that just coming by themselves. If we try to stop the thoughts saying – I should not think like this – it doesn’t help. The mind keeps creating thoughts. The easiest way to stop that way of thinking is to now consume a new diet for the soul. We need to do it exactly at that moment itself. One is that we listened to Gyan in the morning. But later in the day something else got triggered. Now the next class of Gyan is going to take place only the next morning. But if I start thinking right now for an entire hour How much of soul power gets depleted? And then like that line shared – it will all get stored because we are continuously creating them. So the moment we feel we have started to think negatively, at that moment read or listen to something good. Then nourishment which it gives us is – it stops the chain of continuous negative thoughts which was going on Its repetition and churning stops. Why it stops is because right now you have taken in new information. Keep reading your listening to something good. Very soon the thoughts will change. Even a child does that – if he hurt himself and is crying, if you show him a toy he gets very excited about the toy and stops crying. Even the mind starts crying like a kid. Right now the mind is hurt just like how you mentioned about a child being hurt. You mentioned the child got hurt and the child started to cry. But when you give him a toy he forgot about the hurt and also stopped crying. If you had not given him a toy then he would have cried for a very long time. And that crying reduces his strength. So you immediately healed him. You gave him a good, attractive toy. Similarly when the mind starts crying because somebody said something or because of an unpleasant past memory Or even if there was a failure at workplace, then the mind starts crying. At that moment if we think – tomorrow when I go to take Gyan or attend spiritual classes, then I will nurture myself Then the mind’s crying will go on for a very long time. We might even sleep at night carrying those thoughts. By the time we go to the class tomorrow and take in Gyan, 8 to 10 hours might have passed. It is like if somebody gets a heart attack and the doctor says he will come to see the patient after 2 days. Has to be done immediately. What we need to do is to always keep with us a good book or Godly messages. They should always be with us. It is our First Aid, very true. Like how people carry emergency medicines in their pocket It matters so much that they take the medicine at that moment. That is going to save them. So the Soul’s First Aid We should carry something like that with us at all times. We should always have with us – a good book, messages of Gyan, recording of some spiritual classes, a good cassette, a good song, or good music. We can experiment with this today. The moment the mind starts crying, don’t let it cry. At that moment start reading or listening to something good. We will experience how we will save ourselves from a lot of pain. This is what the line says to choose even at that time – what to store, what to delete and what to encourage. Even if there is a trigger, but at that moment I fill the soul with good information Then what gets stored will be different. I will be saving myself. We need to protect ourselves as we go through the day. Now I can confidently say that all these things are in my hand. Absolutely. Thank you so much. Thank you. Om Shanti. Om Shanti. Thank you.

The Boy Scout First Aid Kit

The Boy Scout First Aid Kit

Hello once again this is Tom and today
I’m going to build a Boy Scout First Aid kit out of items that are on this table
and I’m going to stick as closely as I can to the requirements with some minor
adjustments. This first aid kit is to be used for the Tenderfoot requirement 4D, Second Class requirement 7B and the First Aid Merit Badge requirement 2D and
these are as of August, 2016. So let’s first start out with the
requirements list and the first thing on the requirements list is adhesive
bandages (six). So I found this first aid kit for a $1-$1.50 at Walmart
and it has six bandages bandages in it so I’ll let that suffice and second
requirement is sterile gauze pads 3×3″. I bought a larger pack of gauze for
around $3 and I separated it out to take these and put them in a
sandwich bag. Of course my hands were clean when I did that because I wouldn’t
want to contaminate them. And if you’re working with your patrol, you can buy
things in larger amounts and then separate them to save money. And… adhesive
tape. Here’s some tape that was around $3 so that’s the same thing [concept]. I had
to separate that out and maybe wrap it around a pencil. And the tape itself
won’t be touching a wound so it doesn’t have to stay perfectly sterile. And also
moleskin 3×6″. Need one. So this moleskin is a different size. It is
actually 4 5/8″ by 3 3/8″. And I
would imagine your counselor would be okay with that that since there are three in the
package and they can be stacked side-by-side or overlapped, if necessary.
Also… soap. This is one small bar. And this bar soap came from some hotel. It was
left behind by someone who had not used it at all, so it’s still sealed, and so I
snagged it and decided to use it for this first aid kit. And antiseptic. This one’s a
little bit subjective. It says “one small tube”. I have a small tube of antiseptic.
It’s Equate brand triple antibiotic ointment and also have one of these packs
that came inside of another first aid kit that I dismantled so either one
would work for me … depends on what your counselor means by
that. …also depends on how much you think you’re going to use in an emergency. So
my take on it is the smaller pack would work just fine. And some scissors. These
scissors I found in the Sewing department at Walmart for $1.50. They are cheaper than the medical scissors that you find for
around $3.50 over in the Health and Beauty Aids (department), so it made more sense to me … plus they seem to be sturdy and will do
the job. Next is latex gloves. I picked VINYL
gloves. I have a box of vinyl gloves. I use them out of that. And it made more sense
to get the box and then separate them. …especially if you’re working with your
patrol … but you can also buy a pack of 4 gloves maybe 6 gloves for around $1-$1.50. Also it says Mouth Barrier Device. This was the tough one.
…had to order this off of Amazon. I ordered five of them for $10
they turn out to be about $2 apiece, but that’s something that was
very hard to find locally. I did find them in a local medical supply store, however and they were a lot more
than $2 apiece. So, best bet is the be prepared and order them early. Like I said order them from Amazon and
you see the brand on them however if you type in “CPR Mouth Barrier”,
you’ll find various brands and availabilities. And also plastic goggles.
…let me mention a little bit more about this mouth barrier — it has a one-way valve, so if
you’re performing CPR breaths (if you’ve been trained on how to do breaths for CPR)
this is what you would use and has a one-way valve so that nothing gets back
in your mouth when you are performing CPR. Next item is plastic goggles (or
other). I chose these 3M goggles. They’re kind of work goggles, but they work for
splash and impact and they were around $3.50 at Walmart.
Also pencil and paper. So that pad of paper cost me $0.27 and the pencil was
free because I pulled it out of the kitchen drawer. Everybody has a drawer
full of pencils somewhere. So all in all, it was about $16 including this
handy-dandy case that I’m going to put everything in to keep the goggles from
getting smashed. And it was about $16. to put this together which I
think it’s kind of steep. You can probably work with your patrol and buy
things in larger amounts and come out better than that, however this fits the
bill and satisfies the requirement. If a scout brought this to me for satisfying
his requirement for the merit badge, I would sign-off on this. That’s all!

Learn First Aid Vocabulary in English – It could save your life!

Hi. Welcome to www.engvid.com. I’m Adam. In today’s video we’re going
to look at: “First Aid”. Basically, taking care of somebody during an
emergency if some bad thing happened, like a car accident or you fell down while mountain
climbing, or anything bad that happened where you got injured or wounded, you’re going to
be receiving first aid before they get you to the hospital where they’re
going to take care of you. So, first, as the name implies, first
aid is the first thing they do when the emergency happened. Somebody will call 911. In some countries I’m pretty sure it’s 119,
but again, wherever you are make sure you know the emergency number for EMS,
the emergency medical services. Basically these are the people that send
the ambulance and come in the ambulance. They’re also called
first responders. They’re the first people to respond to the
call to come and make sure everything’s okay or to try to make
everything okay. The people who drive the
ambulance are called paramedics. Okay? You will also find
paramedics in fire trucks. Usually ambulances and
fire trucks come together. The fire trucks have a lot
more equipment on them. Now, the first thing they’re going to want to
do is figure out what’s going on, so they’re going to assess the situation. Right? They’re going to look around, see what
kind of injury’s involved, what kind of action they need to take, for example. But sometimes they come, they see blood everywhere,
right away they know they need to stabilize. “Stabilize” means make stable, means if
somebody’s bleeding, first stop the bleeding. If somebody is having a heart attack or somebody’s
in shock, stop that situation first before you do-excuse me-anything else. Now, one of the things they’re
also going to do is demobilize. “Demobilize” means make sure that the
person who is injured doesn’t move. Can’t move, can’t be moved. Okay? They will put him in a straight line, make
sure that everything is secure so if he moves or she does even more damage,
that’s not a good thing. So, stabilize, demobilize,
assess what’s going on. And then what you’re going to do is
you’re going to administer first aid. So we don’t do first aid,
we don’t make first aid. We administer. It basically means,
like, give, but we… This is the more common word. You can say give first aid and you attend
to the person, means you take care of them, you figure out what they
need, give them that. Okay? Now, in some cases they’re
going to have to defibrillate. They’re going to use
a defibrillator. This is a machine that sends an
electric shock into the body. So if someone’s having a heart attack, for
example, and their heart just stops beating, they’re going to take the two paddles, they’re
going to charge the machine with electricity, going to put them two paddles, and: “Whoom”,
send electricity into the body, get that heart pumping again. So this machine is
called a defibrillator. The action is to defibrillate. Okay? Now, it is becoming more and more common to
see these machines in all kinds of areas; on planes and trains they have them, in many
public places they have a machine ready just in case somebody needs it. Hopefully not. Something else they might have to do is
give CPR, cardiopulmonary resuscitation. To resuscitate basically
means to bring back to life. So CPR, if somebody stops breathing, if the
lungs stop pumping air in and out of the body, then they’re going to have
to give CPR, administer CPR. Somebody will have… They can have a bag with a pump or somebody
will just have to put their mouth on your mouth and blow air
into your lungs. Fill the lungs, push it out, fill the lungs,
push it out, make sure everything is okay until the lungs start basically
working by themselves. So that’s called CPR. Another thing they
may do, they may… Again, this is part of the demobilizing, they’re
going to put a neck brace around your neck. It’s a… Basically it’s a piece of hard cloth,
it’s thick, they put it around so you can’t move your head. If you injured your neck and you’re moving
around, you could end up being paralyzed. Okay? Paralyzed… If you become paralyzed means you’ve damaged
your spine, the bone down your back and you won’t be able to move your legs, maybe you
won’t be able to move your upper body. Not a good situation. So they put a neck brace so you
can’t do any damage to your spine. Then they will put you on a stretcher, it’s
a long board, sometimes with wheels if it’s the ambulance. Otherwise, like for example,
soldiers, they just have a board. They put you on there, they make sure you’re
secure, then they lift you up and carry you to the hospital. Okay? So these are the first steps, but just because
this is the main things that the ambulance guys do… Excuse me. The paramedics, it doesn’t mean that you can’t
also administer first aid for somewhat more minor things. Okay? So it’s very important that you keep
and always have ready a first aid kit. So we’re going to
look at what a… What should be inside
a first aid kit now. Okay, so everybody should have a
first aid kit ready somewhere. You should have one at home,
maybe have one in your car. Especially if you’re going to go on a road
trip, make sure you have one with you. If you’re going to go to some remote areas where
there aren’t phones or towns or hospitals, take a first aid kit with you. So, basically, the essentials of
a first aid kit are a bandage. If you got a small cut, this is like a sticky
basically cloth and you put it over the cut, and it stops the cut, absorbs the blood,
and then you go on and you fix it later. If you… If you have a very deep cut, then
you’re probably going to need stitches. Now, some people are not very comfortable taking
a needle and thread, and sewing themselves. So what you want to do is you want to put
gauze on it, you want to stop the bleeding, get to a hospital quickly and
they will put stiches in for you. They will basically join the skin together
with a stapler or with needle, and close it. Gauze, you’ve all seen it, it’s this
white sheet, you can see through it. It’s very light with
lots of little holes. And you wrap it around
the wound and you… But before that, you put some antiseptic, you
clean it first of all, and then you wrap it, you put a dressing on it. So this gauze is
called a dressing. Okay? But before that you clean it. How do you clean it? With antiseptic. You can have pads, so like they’re
little packets, they’re wet. You use it to clean, and
then you put the gauze. Some people take a whole bottle of alcohol
and some cotton pads, and they clean it off. You might want to put
some antiseptic ointment. Ointment is like a… Basically like a little liquid. It’s thick, it comes in a tube. If you have a burn or if you have a
cut, you put the ointment on the… On the wounded area basically, and
then you dress it with some gauze. Okay? You should also have tweezers. Tweezers are like… Like little metal things, like
you can pick things out with. Like if you have a splinter. Okay? I’ll put it here.
Splinter. If you’re walking in the woods and a very
small piece of wood goes into your skin, it hurts a lot so you
want to pick it out. Right? So they’re little
tweezers, they can do that. Or scissors, so you can cut the
gauze and whatever else you need. And a splint. So if you break something, if you break a bone
and you need to basically make it stable, you want to make it straight and not
move around too much, you use a splint. Or if you need to basically… So you broke the arm or the shoulder, you
put the arm here, you put a little thing, a splint on it, and it doesn’t move
around so you don’t damage it even more. Now, there’s many things that
can happen in any situation. You can get injured or
you can get wounded. Injury is internal. You won’t see it, but you’ll
definitely know about it. It’ll be very painful. A wound is on the outside. You will bleed or there’ll
be something very visible. So, a fracture. A fracture basically means
you’ve broken a bone. Okay? Now, the bone can be… Let’s say this is a bone for… If you have any pets you
know what this looks like. A break is like this. A fracture is basically
down the bone. Right? Either way you need to go to the
hospital to take care of it. A tear. If you… Inside
you have muscles. If you tore a muscle you might
not be able to move very much. Not very much you can do with first aid, but
you help the person be as stable as possible, get them to the hospital. If somebody has a bruise, you will see the
black or blue, or whatever colour it turns, but that’s also inside. There’s bleeding inside. You need to maybe put some ice on it or do
something, get the person sitting down, off his or her feet, get the
blood flowing the other way. A sprain means when
you twist something. It’s almost broken, but not broken,
but there’s definitely damage. It will swell. There will be swelling. Swelling is when
the, like, area… For example, if I sprained my wrist my
wrist will become suddenly big like this. Okay? Very painful as well. Whiplash. If you’re driving in a car and you’re
wearing your seatbelt and you suddenly hit something, your whole body goes
forward and back. Right? So that motion creates whiplash. Sorry about that. So if you have whiplash, that’s
also very dangerous as well. Now, stroke. Stroke I’m not talking about like a head stroke
which is very serious, but there’s not much you’re going to be able to
do in terms of first aid. Sun stroke, heat stroke. Okay? If you have any of these, you need to get
the person first of all to the shade, you need to cool them down right away as much as
you possibly can, get them to the hospital, they’ll get some water,
some salts, etc. A wound is visible, it’s a cut. The skin is broken,
blood is coming out. You’re bleeding. A tear also could be like… It’s like a cut. Basically you’ve torn some skin off, there’s going
to be blood, it’s going to be kind of ugly. If somebody got dismembered means
a part of the body came off. Like, if you got hit by a car and your arm
came off, what you need to do first, get that arm, put it on ice, get the person to the
hospital, maybe they can sew it back on. Okay? So… But it’s very not only important to have all
these things and to know what you’re talking about, it’s very important to
know how to administer first aid. So, if there is a first aid course near your
house or not too far, I highly recommend that everybody take a first aid course
so in any case of emergency you can save somebody’s life. You might even be able to save your own life
by telling somebody what to do for you. Okay? Very, very important. So I hope this was helpful. There’s a quiz at www.engvid.com where you can
test your knowledge of the new vocabulary, and you can ask questions
there as well in the forum. If you like the video, please
subscribe to my YouTube channel. There’ll be lots more
coming like this. And yeah, if you have any questions, come
ask me and I’ll see you again real soon. Bye-bye.

First Aid: choking Adult | First Aid

First Aid: choking Adult | First Aid

This video was created in partnership with First Aid Choking adult In this video, you will learn to administer first aid to a person over the age of one who is choking. There are three possible scenarios: 1 – The victim is still breathing I/Scenario 1: the casualty is breathing, but with difficulty: 1 – Take no action – Encourage the person to cough and don’t do anything else! Coughing is the most effective way of dislodging an object. Doing anything else could worsen the situation. Scenario 2 – Victim not breathing but conscious II/ Scenario 2: the casualty is not breathing, but is still conscious: Support their upper body with one hand and lean them forward. 1 – Five blows to the back Give them up to 5 sharp back blows between their shoulder blades with the heel of your hand. 2 – Five abdominal thrusts If the back blows don’t work, alternate with a series of 5 abdominal thrusts: Place your hand clenched in a fist in the middle of their abdomen just below the sternum in the hollow of their stomach place your other hand over it. Bend the casualty forward. Pull sharply inwards and upwards. Alternate 5 back blows with 5 abdominal thrusts until the casualty is breathes normally. 3 – Victim unconscious and no longer breathing III/ Scenario 3: none of these procedures has worked and the casualty loses consciousness: 1 – Alert emergency services 2 – Begin cardiopulmonary resuscitation Call or get someone to call the emergency services and start cardiopulmonary resuscitation, alternating 30 chest compressions with two rescue breaths. If you don’t know how to give mouth-to-mouth breathing, do chest compressions only, at a rate of two per second. Continue CPR until medical help arrives or the casualty starts breathing normally. If the choking person is obese or pregnant and you are unable to grasp your hands around them to perform abdominal thrusts, you can alternate back blows with chest thrusts.
